Spinach Pakora Bangladeshi Style - শাক পাকোড়া

Spinach pakora is a common snack in India too . This tea time  treat is everyone’s favorite in our family. This pakora was different from the indian version as it uses less flour. Some add grated potato the below recipe too.

Requirements :

1 cup Spinach
¼ cup carrot grated
1 large onion
3 green chilli
½ tsp cumin powder
¼ cup Besan flour / chickpea flour
1 tbs Rice flour
¼ tsp baking powder ( optional )
½ tsp salt
oil for frying
Method :
Wash the spinach and chop finely.
 Peel onion and chop.
 Chop green chillies .
In a  bowl , add the besan flour , rice four , cumin powder , salt and baking powder , mix together.
To the flour mixture , add the chopped spinach , onion , green chilli  and grated carrot, mix well.
The mixture may be sticky from the water content of onion and spinach.
If the mixture is dry sprinkle little water and mix well.
Heat oil  in a pan , when the oil is hot , reduce the flame to medium.
Take a spoonful of batter and carefully drop in to oil.
Cook till the pakoras turn golden brown.
Take off and place the pakoras  in the kitchen towel  to drain excess oil.
